Certification = Inner satisfaction

People are the strength of every company that is why ISP takes care of employees development and gives them an opportunity to attend in house training and offers a certification.

IT certificates prove a specific technological knowledge and give a competitive advantage in the labour market....and there are more benefits.

We would like to present you a series of interviews with ISP employees who know that the IT industry constantly requires them to develop their knowledge.

Our first interviewee is Adrian Dorobisz, Senior IT Specialist in ISP.

Which certificate is the most valuable to you?
I personally think that it took a lot of time and effort to earn the most valuable certificates I have. It can be well illustrated by the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certificate, which I obtained last year, in December. Because of an interesting coincidence, I had to cover the exam material in less than a month! It had required hard work and self-denial. However, it paid off – I passed the exam at the first attempt.

How long does it take to prepare for certification exams? How to gather a sufficient knowledge?
I assume it depends on the individual. Some people need more or less time to acquire knowledge. It varies from few days to a couple of months. If you are interested in something, you will learn it faster. It is hard to answer this complex question. Honesty, I try to take a look at materials twice or thrice a week. My knowledge is based on electronic sources. I frequently buy e-books for Kindle on Amazon because they are not available in Polish bookshops.

Why certification is so important?
First of all, it gives you an inner satisfaction: despite all obstacles, you have been motivated , fought them all and got a certificate. It is also worth mentioning that many employers look for people who have paper qualifications. All these factors prove that we should develop constantly and obtain new certificates. It is very important because we have to be up on IT news, gain new experience and learn about new technologies.
