Recognise your current level of competence

We present you an interview with our colleague Marcin who mentions his preparation for certification exams.

Which certificate is the most valuable to you?
Marcin Kumorek, Project Manager: It is a difficult question. The PRINCE2 Practitioner certification is the most valuable to me because it proves my knowledge and experience, connected with project management. The CISA certification is my favourite one.
Preparation for the exam was a pleasure because it required me to recall and organise my IT knowledge.

How much time do you need to prepare to an exam? How to gather a sufficient knowledge?
Marcin: The universal answer to this question would be: “it depends”. It depends on an exam, examinee’s knowledge, his previous exams. For instance, it took me two months to prepare for the CISA exam. However,  preparing for the CISM certification took only 15 hours. I highly recommend the official APMG course book because you can have it with you while you are writing an exam. It is worth having the ISACA exam questions database that helps to approach the exam.

Why certification is so important?
Marcin: Certification enables examinee to recognise his or her competence level. I think that it is valuable for both, an employee and an organisation.
