156 new workplaces at ING Services Polska
With the European funds received from the Innovative Economy Program, ING Services Polska has created over 150 new workplaces for IT specialists in Katowice. The project will allow the company to expand its current IT centre and create a Research and Development Centre.
On December 14, 2012 at the Ministry of Economy office, representatives of ING Services Polska signed an agreement on co-financing with the EU funds. A grant of more than 12 million PLN was allocated to expand the IT Centre, responsible for software development, testing and managing applications, database management, as well as the security of processes and data transfer.
The project involves the establishment of the Centre of Research and Development, with staff leading the work in the area of R&D, leading to the development of IT tools used by the company and to work out new process solutions. The company has already run programs for recruitment for specialist positions in this area.
- To achieve the target, it is necessary to create new, highly-skilled positions - says Magdalena Nowicka, CEO of ING Services Polska. – According to the project, we plan to create 156 new workplaces, including 21 at the Centre for R&D and 135 at the IT Centre. It is very important for the Silesia region in the current situation on the labour market - adds Magdalena Nowicka.
The total value of investments called "Creation and development of CIT and CR&D as an innovation within ING Group" is about 80 million PLN, with over 12 million PLN as a grant from the Innovative Economy Program. The project will be complete in June 2015.
